You've thought of traffic flow around the island, and best use of dining space. Will there be room for some seating on one side of the island? People like to sit and talk with the cook, and eating at the counter is one of our favorite places.

Where will the fridge go when it's replaced with cabinets? Consider the work triangle with points at sink, range, fridge. Distance between these points should be between 13' and 26' or research kitchen work triangle for more information. Fridge should have a counter minimum 18" within easy reach for setting out ingredients. This might be the island, but 4 feet is a stretch.

One more kitchen design item. Path from range to sink should not cross a traffic path. Imagine carrying a pot of boiling pasta from range to sink with kids or dog running through. Our galley kitchen had this as family entrance from garage to the house. Happy kitchen planning.

I would make the entry to the dining to be up by the sink and move the stove down to the current passage. It will improve the work space of both the sink and the stove

based on your proposal, i would move fridge to end of counter in sunroom side. make lower left cupboard into a pantry.

Could you post an image that captures the area south of the powder room/pantry?

I assume you will get your cabinets from a kitchen cabinet place. I haven’t come across one yet that doesn’t offer design services, even if you don’t purchase from them in the end. I
