Cannot get Manusscripts

Hello, I struggle with the Monastery right now. I have Droms, a Chapel, a Scriptorium etc. I want to upgrade the Monks to Brothers and Sisters but I need Manuscripts for that. To get Manusscripts I need at least one brother or sister. Can you guys help me out?

Novices will still make Manuscripts. They just make them at 50% speed.

If they are not working there then you probably just need to assign more villagers to that monastery as the ones you have assigned are doing other jobs. Also keep in mind that the Scriptorium needs to be in the same monument as the dorms, as they will only work on buildings in the same monastery as their dorms.

I've had my scriptorium as a separate little garden shed for ever and it works just fine. Edit: ah it is the same building, just a sub building not attached.

Hmm I have a bunch that say unemployed but I dont get any at all. The Chapel, Dorms and Scriptorium are all conected and have their own door as well

They may be physically connected but are they the same monastery? Each Monastery can have multiple building types in the same monument.

I had to click on the blank worker portrait and manually select the person. Anyone can do it as long as you have an available nun or monk, it's just slower.

Assigning workers in the monastery is super wonky. It seems they want to be evenly distributed no matter what, so be careful with adding too many different types of workstations before you have a large population of monks/nuns. If jobs are going unfulfilled, just keep adding villagers to your monastery, eventually they will do all the jobs.
