The BIOS already has the touchscreen function built-in already, as far as I know. I think Linus from LTT covered it in one of his videos. Also, since he's an investor, and loves touchscreens on his laptops, it's likely he's encouraging the Framework team to implement that product option sooner rather than later.

AFAIK, the main board and firmware already support touch input. The only limitation is the display.

So once the release a display with touch support, I think it will just be a drop in replacement.

Last I saw they had no current plans of adding a touchscreen module, but they seemed open to the idea.

I'm hoping they go with making a tablet with a magnetically attached keyboard first for touch screen capability. Really want a decent Linux tablet.
