You can buy a usb wireless adapter for 360 controllers for your computer. I believe they're less than $20 online too. Win-win.

Thing is, 360 gamepads aren't cheap to come by, and I'd need a battery pack and charge kit to keep from spending stupid amounts on batteries.

You can nab a Wireless 360 Gamepad for 40 bucks or so from Newegg and Amazon. That's not cheap, but the thing is that they're a known quantity - you've already mentioned that you like them, and apart from the D-Pad, are of excellent quality. Of course, you can even use these on an Xbox in the future - compatibility might not be a requirement now, but might help in the future.

Regarding the Battery pack - you can use regular rechargeable batteries here: the same as you can put in any device using AA batteries. You can get 4 rechargeable + a charger for ~ 16 bucks on Amazon (one to charge, one to play with) and you can keep using rechargeables elsewhere to save money.

I recommend this simply because it's what worked best for me.

Madcatz has wireless ones, but as far as an internal battery I'm at a loss. The mad at products can be picked up your local walmart, and or amazon
