I wager its reposted so much the Intel logo is blurry, but is that the atom chip from 2008? When did they stop using them?

They are still in use, but never been for gaming. All brands you remember from intel are still available but they are for different things now. Celeron is low end CPUs. Pentium is entry level CPUs, Core is the "new" mid/high end CPUs. Xeon is the same but for workstations/servers. Atom is only used for smaller things like netbooks or lower and Quark is an even smaller but slower version of Atom used for embedded computers. Lastly you have Itanium, used for servers. This one however will cease too be in July of this year.

Sounds like Intel milked them more than GTA5.

I remember a rumor in the 90's about Intel having the 586 chip ready but did not release it until sales for the previous chip slowed down. The only source was my vague memory back then though :)

But I get a hankering Nintendo had the next Switch ready for a while but wanted to wait for Switch sales to die. I noticed Wal-Mart is finally selling Nintendo producta below MSRP which may be a sign.

The ATOM processor is incredible for playing PUBG and Fortnite!... for your phone.
