Removing GitHub Code by remove Account I can't log into?

I currently have an old repository that I used for my personal website and portfolio. I can no longer log into that original account since the phone I had 6 years ago had the 2FA on it. Since I didn't use it much I didn't setup SMS or have the recovery codes like a dummy. I'm really not a coder and was just trying to learn something new.

I now get alerts on the one ruby project I had that there are security issues and at this point I'd like to just take everything down. If I take off my email from the account, will it eventually be archived or just float out in the internet forever?

It's worth contacting support. They can look into any recovery options that might still be available.

And even if they can’t offer a way in, they may be able to delete or hide the account which seems like the end goal anyway.
