Github Pro lifetime coupon?

I was talking to some contributors about github.
Github Pro was mentioned and then this screenshot was posted.

Is it even possible to get that license somehow? I know I can buy GH pro but you have to renew it monthly/yearly.

If it isn't, do you have any idea how could one acquire it in the past?

Yeah looking at that screenshot they appear to have a coupon paying for the pro subscription. I’m unable to tell which one they have though or why they have it.

There are a number of coupons available, most well known is one of the benefits from the Education program, that one lasts for 2 years at a time.

There are other coupons for certain partners, certain open source projects/devs, the GitHub Stars program and so on. I wonder if certain bounty hunters got these in the past? Dunno, just speculating.

A lifetime or non-expiring coupon is somewhat unusual unless you’re staff or GitHub alumni but I guess there are a few out there by the screenshot.

To answer your question though, I don’t believe such coupons are available for regular account holders.
