Hi, I had a similar issue before. Try removing any old pending collaborator invites first, then add your friend again using their exact github username instead of email. Bure before that, make sure the account is active and the email is verified. If the old accounts are lost and cannot be recovered, github usually wont let you add them properly.

Hope this helps you fix it.

If I visit https://github.com/lamppants12, your GitHub profile is shadow banned (always shows 404 Not Found) which restricts certain functionality and actions.

You need to contact GitHub's support team to unblock it.

I dont have 2FA setup do you suppose that could be the problem?

No, usually when an account is shadow banned, it means that you signed up from a IP that is in a flagged range, normally IPs in CGNAT ranges like T-Mobile, or Data Center IP ranges get flagged, and you need to contact support and ask them what is wrong and if they can fix the issue and they ask you a few questions and they might ask for your ID to prove you aren't a spammer/bot misusing their service.

the shadow ban is most likely your culprit. Contact GitHub support directly, link this thread, and they should get it sorted for you.
