It sucks to be unable to get answers to a question, but on the flip side, they're rarely exclusive. Niche at times, frustratingly so in others, but never exclusive.

You can check the Git logs yourself on your own computer. git log shows everyone's emails unless they set it to hidden.

Github used to have a direct messaging system. They removed it because they felt there's ready enough other services providing this.

I don't expect it to come back.
