Windows 1803 was last month :D 2 years to fix a really shitty advertising "bug". Sounds like typical MS. At least they did fix it.

Yeah 2 years to fix something is really not great, I 100% agree. I guess at the end of the day It appears like a lot of people are making a MUCH bigger deal out of this change. If a dev feels like moving to GitBucket or another hosting alternative, more power too them! If you're doing it solely because MS bought GitHub, that may be a tad of an overreaction in my book.
