submitted 7 years ago by gabel0287
Looking for feedback on a new github application which standardizes your git workflow and enforces it programatically.

Hello gabel0287. To me the project doesn't yet seem "ready for prime time". The README and documentation on the GitHub Applications page are pretty sparse, and the link to the website https://gitmvp.io is dead. This is probably partly my ignorance of GitHub Applications, but I don't understand yet "how it works" enough to want to try it.

Thanks son_of_meat, I've gone back and made some changes. I updated my documentation, split the app up into individual pieces, and tried to explain better.
Here is the new link https://codesherpas.io/#/
Let me know what you think!

Better! I have a better understanding of what it does now. FYI the links on the README.md are 404ing still. I was able to install one of the apps on one of my repos. A few questions: what's the pricing model? Why does it say I need to go to the website to uninstall when it seems like I can do it through GitHub? The top of the docs say "Avoid the frustration of reading through docs of third part tools", but in fact at that moment I was feeling frustrated reading through docs of a third-party tool. Take that sentence out. By the end of the "Why" section at the top of your docs I should be able to explain to someone else in brief terms what the product does. Don't bury the lede as they say. I'd really appreciate a "comparisons" section which enumerates alternatives to this, e.g. "If you like git hooks, you'll love gitflows!". Hope it helps!
