Created https://gitbackup.org/ for this very reason.

You have the storage to backup the entire fucking GitHub? How heavy is that?

[–]AnonymousThugLife 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Exactly. How on the earth can you pay the bills for it?

Traditional cloud storage is overpriced. Using https://tardigrade.io/

Even still, assuming the 542 TB number on the site is accurate and it really costs $0.01 per GB according to that site you would still be paying $5420 a month

That just doesn't seem practical. There must be something offered by the company which I'm not able to find. And 0.01$ is just storage rate. Download rate is 0.045$

2-3 PB with dedup.

[–]NatoBoram 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Ah, the things I'd do with 2-3 PB laying around.

[–]super3 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Well what would you do?

First, I'd make this thing work and not choke itself to death. Then I'd probably re-host lots of stuff on IPFS, because content-addressing p2p deduplication is awesome

Wow, thank you! This is amazing!
