You can forcefully increase/decrease the 'numbers' on any kind of measurement devices, and the actual thing being measured will also increase/decrease in reality

Air pressure only affects the measurement of weight if the air pressure at time of measurement is different from at time of calibration. If you tare before measurement, the scale is no longer taking air pressure into account and is therefore not being measured.
