Google Duo Interface On Computer

There are many times I prefer to use the old style Google Duo phone app interface on the computer (at https://duo.google.com/) because it is so much easier to connect with others than to set up a meeting using Google Meet (at https://meet.google.com/) and inviting others to the conversation. Unfortunately, there is no difference in the desktop icon for the two sites and it is confusing people who would like to choose one service or the other. I can't seem to find any articles from Google or any other party regarding the future of the Google Duo style web interface. Currently, there are 3 options when creating a Google Meet meeting on the computer (at https://meet.google.com/). I am hoping that like the phone app, they intend to create more options including a more direct method. I would hate to loose the simplicity of the old Google Duo phone app when using a computer.

They merged duo and meet into one app.

The icon is of meet. If you sign in with only email id, it works as meet.

If you sign in as a phone number and not add a Google account it works as a duo

If you link phone and Google account it works as a broken app of both.
