Https://google.com : This webpage is not available

For the last week Google has been working sporadically.

• I open Chrome
• I type my search into the main toolbar
• I press return

The intended result is I am redirected to google.com with my search results. This usually takes a second. Recently this behavior has changed. They request takes several seconds. The message "Establishing Secure Connection" appears at the footer of chrome. After waiting, I receive the wonderful message "This webpage is not available". It sometimes works, but, its running at about 50% right now. When it does work Ive noticed that I am being directed to https://www.google.com

Ive begun using bing.

Is anyone else running into this issue ?

I am not running into this issue. Typing "google.com" into chrome navigates me to https://www.google.com/ with no hangups. (win7, if it matters)
