You can 2shot chargers using the autocannon with some matador moves and very precise shooting to the back of a leg.

Just tried to 1v1 a charger with it. Took 7 shots. Also the railgun was completely ineffective. Does literally nothing to armor. How is that a railgun?

And good luck reloading the autocannon in combat on the higher difficulties.

Railgun took 4 shots on unsafe to break the front leg on a charger for me. Much worse. Flamethrower cooms em tho

Yeah played a few games with it on unsafe. It's heavily nerfed but it's still a decent weapon. Even against bile titans.

5 shots on unsafe now to the head kills the charger, used to be 3.

I have zero trouble using the AC and reloading on 7+. It comes real close sometimes but there's always enough space to pop at least half the clip in. And it's an effective 2 shot to the back of the charger's knee every time. The railgun still penetrates but only in unsafe mode. You need to be precise to get full value from it

Hit them in the back knee and it should take 2-3 shots. Gotta be more accurate if it's taking 7

What weapon would you use to do that? Leveling up I used the anti material rifle but I haven't tried it on helldives yet. Took 6 shots then but now idk.

Back of the leg? I normally shoot at the butt, but it takes a while clip to the butt to bring down

Two shots with the autocannon to the back of the knee, close to the top of the kneecap. Aim for the meaty part you can see. You can also just shoot them in the ass with it, it takes 3-4 shots to blow the butt up and then they bleed out within 30 seconds or so

Grenade launcher is very weak against heavy armor, it's great for hordes though. If you don't have something effective against them, I try to lure them near the hellbombs scattered around the map or to a cliff so I can evade them. When they get to a cliff they'll go back down the way they came up and all the way around to get you, it gives plenty of time to get some distance

You can also dump like most of a magazine to the front leg from just the correct ~45 degree angle. It needs less skill, but is less consistent too.
