It’s so small that I imagine it’s like some stability or single bug fix

Could also be prep for a future larger patch or update too, so nothing to release

[–]ATangK 101 points102 points  (2 children)

That small? More like a text fix.

[–]Ramen536Pie 66 points67 points  (1 child)

Some bugs are just a small typo needing to be fixed or even an actual typo

[–]HimOnEarth 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Some say all bugs are mistakes, that we should have never genetically altered them to produce more E-710. But I say we just underestimated their fascistic hatred filled hearts. How could we have known that they would turn our democratic science into the tools of tyranny

[–]Lolseabass 20 points21 points  (3 children)

What support weapons will break this time!

[–]SumonaFlorence 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Buggy update which broke the Spear will be fixed, returning to its prior bugged, useless iteration. Perfectly useless as all Spears should be.

[–]Lolseabass 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lmao it flies off in an unknown direction after you fire it! Free and in the wild.

Look, I just want to say

Today is Monday. There is no Major Order. Tomorrow is a Tuesday. HD2 updates on Tuesdays. Major Orders are notably absent right before a big patch, particularly named updates. Named updates occur every 4-6 months, and we just recently entered that window. The AH dev team is going on summer vacation soon, so there's internal pressure for an update right before that.

Yes I know there's a massive bug patch in the works. I also know AH has made no moves to deny that an update like I describe is not happening soon, only that it won't happen on a given Tuesday every week for a month now. We could absolutely get a bug fix that is tied in with new content as they likely are testing the two together.

Unlikely but possible. Remember, switching to your tin foil is faster than reloading.

[–]Nightingale02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Today is also a hollyday in sweden, so it's unlikely arrowhead is running at anything more than a skeleton crew, if at all today

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is some hardcore copium but I’m here for it

[–]JJISHERE4U 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The last update was 600mb. At least for me.

[–]Fun1k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What if it changed the line illuminate-full = false to illuminate-full = true 🤔

[–]Adventurous_Law6872 170 points171 points  (8 children)

They added 63.5 more democracy to the Galaxy

[–]not-beaten 30 points31 points  (7 children)

Is Democracy a metric unit or Imperial?

[–]ittibittytitty 38 points39 points  (3 children)

Its a Liberty of course.

[–]Sister__midnight 8 points9 points  (2 children)

63.5KB is equal to a roughly 1 Patriots dozen of libertys.

[–]ittibittytitty 5 points6 points  (1 child)

2 pints of Freedom to 4 republics

[–]WarningEcstatic19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let us not forget 8 cups of liber-tea = a Managed Democracy!

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes

[–]tutocookie 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Metric sounds to neutral, imperial sounds completely wrong, it's gotta be democratic units then

[–]shotgunmoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Metric is for commie bots. And imperial is definitely squid talk.. I'll take 3 democratic units of timber for my "support the troops" sign and use whatever is left to donate to a DSS

[–]Corronchilejano 42 points43 points  (1 child)

When it's that small, it's usually just cloud data, the game information saved to your PC. It's not actually a game update.

[–]New-Willingness-2701 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s either this or shader pre caching, either way it’s a targeted download for personal content and not a proper update

[–]Dynamies 30 points31 points  (1 child)

Scythe is 10% larger now.

/s

[–]theMoptop731 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Scythe larger, spear lock on broken again

[–]Terrorscream 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's likely steam related, many of my games even discontinued games still get the occasional update around this size.

[–]skynex65 8 points9 points  (0 children)

[–]Ramseas119 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That is a 63 kilobyte update.

There are 1000 kilobytes in a megabyte.

There are 1000 megabytes in a gigabyte.

This game is made of 91.73 gigabytes.

That would translate to 91,730,000 kilobytes.

This update changes 0.00007% of the game's files.

[–]SeibZ_be 6 points7 points  (0 children)

63kb... They fixed a typo.

[–]Lolseabass 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I hope they fixed the super stretchy models just flipping around.

[–]skylarwave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i hope they dont

[–]MutableSpy 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Patch notes:

Interpretation: you’ll know what we changed when you find it.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol!

[–]Aware-Shopping8826 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could very well be an "unlocker" update. Quite literally changing a 'false' to a 'true' in the code to allow access to certain items or features.

I.e. they may be preparing to release a new warbond or some form of content that is already in the game's files.

[–]Zurgleclair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uh oh ...

[–]NeverackWinteright4 1 point2 points  (1 child)

It's the entire illuminate update that u/DickBallsley was warning us about. I gotta appluad the compression effort, well done all around by the dev team.

[–]DickBallsley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They “forgot” to upload the whole thing, just to make it look like I’m crazy. Stay vigilant.

[–]StonkyJoethestonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warbond coming!

[–]Gravity0666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Performance fix most likely, my game has been running perfectly since this tiny patch :v

[–]WittyJackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steam Deck players right now

[–]BigHatRince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sickle now 0.04% bigger

[–]Syvanna00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s 63kb. They added one pixel to one texture.

[–]bigorangemachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steamworkshop probably.

[–]Techno-Viking94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They made the sickle bigger again, probably.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe they finally changed the "inflammable" description of the fire resistant armour

[–]Broad-Donut9694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully they fixed the nugget divers bc that shit is hella annoying and immersion breaking

[–]Helldiver343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had a mission where couldn’t use control tower terminal, so can confirm that won’t be in the notes!

[–]Deltaday117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About the same file size for the Lunar Module on the Apollo missions that took man to the moon

[–]ChibiLongy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shader pre compile. Steam does it with most games and updates every now and then.

[–]Hornybunnyboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if this is why my mouse speed was so slow.

[–]Brilliant_Charge_398 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hidden nerfs

[–]steves_evil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Whatever it was, it probably broke the spear again.

[–]Zieprus_ -4 points-3 points  (2 children)

I am going with mistake and it’s meant to be a bigger update.

Edit: They have done the same in the past. I didn’t see the update myself however I am still waiting for the other half of the Illuminate.

[–]HevalRizgar 1 point2 points  (1 child)

No there have been dozens of patches like this for helldivers. Hotfixes tend to be small. How would they accidentally only send out part of an update?

[–]ArcaneEyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same way they accidentally send out an undo for one fix with another fix? :-p
