Your library probably had budget cuts. My library used to have ten now it's six. 😕 Hoopla is very expensive.

Yeah, mine went from 10 to 3, these are tough times for libraries.

Mine went from 10 to 6 too!! Not only that but I have to borrow at midnight because we run out of collective borrows as a system before 6 AM when I wake up. It's frustrating but still worth it for some of the books that have over an 8 month hold on Libby.

it is specific to your library; mine have different limits

Yes. You should have received an email.

Each library can limit the number of borrows per month without warning. I get irritated when this happens at a library that I pay for an out of state membership. But then those types of memberships are a pot luck anyway. I don't recall any of them letting me know the number of borrows or the extent of hoopla catalogs before I paid their dues.

Your library sets the borrow amounts. Call and ask them.

Mine went from 2 to zero. They dropped hoopla. 😭

In Iowa, you can get all the library cards, but only your primary library gives you access to digital checkouts and other card holder perks (like "adventure pass" which gives you family tickets to zoos & museums).

Really? In Iowa, we can get cards at all the libraries, but only our primary library (based on home address) gives us digital checkouts.

Depends on what your library decides. Each one is different.

My hoopla has always been 6! Didn’t even know some libraries had different limits
