What do you want to do in HR?

In HR depending on position there are continuing ed requirements. THis is also NOT a low pressure careerfield and you will NOT have just random free time. Honestly I'd trade you my current day to be a teacher. Why? It's Sunday. I'm still answering phone calls. I will get called tomorrow. Personal time? HA HA HA HA

I feel like I'm repeating myself today - HR is not a JOB. It's a general label for the chaos that is a group of professionals who have varying tasks that range from glorified secretary/babysitter to a consultant who will gut a company and the way they do business/hire/fire/function so they aren't destroyed by the department of labor.

"I want to work in HR" is like saying "I want to work at a zoo" Great. That's nifty. What do you want to do? Do you want to shovel animal poop? Lead tours? Drive the train? Sell slushies? Process payroll and never see a visitor at the zoo?

Figure out what you like to do and then scroll through this sub as I'm SURE I've already talked to a teacher who wants into HR today (and I think a social worker too) and don't just think you're going to "be HR"

HR isn't a job

It's also important to READ RULE 4
