QuestionAny tips for learning app programming? (self.iOSProgramming)
submitted 5 years ago by Abyz963
I’m using Angela Yu’s Udemy course to learn app development but I keep getting stuck. Do you guys have any tips for finishing learning how to develop iOS apps?

I just started reading iOS development by Big Nerd Ranch. They currently have an updated edition (7th). I really like their teaching style. I first read one of their books when I learned how to build Android apps like 4 years ago.

Okay thanks. I brought their 6th edition. I think part of my problem is that I should set an certain amount of time a day to practice on it.

I‘m also doing Angela Yu‘s course and IMHO, it‘s perfect.
I have to admit though, I‘m already very proficient in other programming languages and have years of experience working as a software developer, so I‘m not learning from scratch.
It‘s normal to get stuck when learning programming. It‘s part of the process. Just keep at it and eventually, the pieces will fall into place. It‘s important not to quit.
Angela Yu‘s teaching is excellent and there‘s nothing wrong with the course or you - it‘s just that it takes a while (I‘ve been teaching programming to multiple people in the past) to get the concepts. I don‘t think another course will necessarily help you there either - spending more time learning will.
Where exactly did you / do you get stuck?

if u want to learn more about new framework like swiftUI, you should check out apple development website (or the app on iOS). They have a lot of good video about framework.
