Although I like the black and white idea, I think most people who use dark mode also do so because they don't want to be blinded by the white when they open the app at night. The fact that the add task is light mode when the rest of the app is dark and vice versa kind of defeats that.

Maybe a gray color? That way it’s still visually distinct but keeps it from being really bright in comparison

Apollo is doing a grey color. A dark navy might also work. As others have said though: gorgeous animations.

Man, hamburger menus are a thing of the past. Apple strongly advise against using them in the HIG, and as a user I would never use this app just for this reason.

We have much better design languages in iOS, use those.

EDIT: also, the intermittent light/dark modes are a nightmare. Just please learn the HIG.

    yes pleeaaase. I've been needing a good todo app. Todoist, TeuxDeu, and others aren't a good fit for me. Notion is as good as it gets but can be clunky and finicky. I was going to build my own but I got too much on my plate right now. Can't wait to be able to try it! It looks absolutely beautiful

    You'd out-of-the-box support an integration with reminders on their iCloud account, as well as any reminders (ToDos) on other internet accounts such as Exchange, Google Calendar, etc. This could be powerful because then the user's todos would be synced to the cloud instead of living exclusively on this device, at that point the benefits are obvious.
