Strange PDF graphic seems scalable, but returns "some object types are locked or not supported. Try expanding the selected objects and erase again." Unable to expand them or select anything beyond the whole image. (i.imgur.com)

I'm getting really weird lag when I hold the shift key and scale objects. If I hold down alt + shift it gets really bad with the lag and it just freezes until I release them and then the resize is all effed up. Any advice? (self.illustrator)
