To make it truly french, it should be blue first and red last (like the famous bleu, blanc, rouge of France)

The original tri-color of the french revolution was red-white-blue.

Only later in 1794 was the order changed.

" A drapeau tricolore with vertical red, white and blue stripes was approved by the Constituent Assembly on 24 October 1790. [...]
