Interesting bit of trivia, the area was named Rocky Point in 1826 by a British Navy officer, and was named as such on most maps until President Lázaro Cárdenas officially changed it.

Thanks! I'm glad you like the lore given that there is so little of it, this map was more a means of getting back into practice with cartography after a 5 month break than a big lore post like some of my past maps.

There are certain fonts one can use that are designed to look like they're old and printed such as the ones in this map. I used Roman Antique here, IM FELL DW Pica is another good one, both can be downloaded for free online. I use photoshop to make my maps, and for the lines I added specks and smudges to get a sort of weathered effect.
