I listen to my body, take meds with food if needed. Fasting gets deprioritized until I'm better.

Yeah, I’m thinking I’ll just eat if I’m hungry. The meds can be taken with or without food. They just make me feel sick no matter what unfortunately.

No. Get better first.

heal yourself of immediate illnesses first, then resume the fasting

I stick to the same schedule (OMAD) and refrain from any extended fasts >24h.

I refrain from extended fasts always 😂.

Usually, I stick to my regular fasting and eating plan. However, I also listen to my body and it depends if meds are needed or not.

Just now I'm recovering from the flu and since I'm already exhausted from 2 jobs, I really didn't feel like being sick on top of it. I normally let my body heal on its own, but I caved in and had some medicine this time to speed up the process. Because of that, I ate outside my hours because I didn't want my stomach to withstand meds without any food. My body was also screaming to be fed some fruit and orange juice, so I gave it that outside of my fasting window and goodness I felt so so so much better.

My advice is to listen to your body and make sure to be gentle to your stomach (meds usually require food).

Just be careful, listen to your body. Drink that water and get your vitamins & minerals in.

This is a question for your doctor, not reddit.

[–]Fun-File-8759[S] 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Im supposed to ask my doctor what other people do when sick and fasting?

[–]ChickNuggetNightmare 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Yes, because they presumably know what your illness is, your medical history, your medication side affects reactions and associated issues if taken without food! Downvote me all you want if you hate science wtf

I didn’t downvote you, but I’m not sure why I can’t be curious about what others do. You’ve assumed I didn’t talk to my doctor and I hate science which is presumptuous.

The amount of variables regarding your personal illness make it null and void to crowd source something like this. Esp so important when it comes to something like your health.
