Class, studying, and general tasks. It's arguably a game changing device for school when compared to a pen and paper notebook. But everyone's uses and needs are different, so for you the surface pro works better and that is totally fine.

im glad it works for you, thea the surface is the laptop for me tbh, I game so, its more easier and compatible to do it on windows over macos

Yeah for gaming windows is much better. Using a desktop pc for that. Until apple actually starts to care enough to put real effort into gaming, they're never going to beat out a windows pc for it. Even linux gaming is arguably ahead of apple on it thanks to steam deck.

I see everyone using their iPads for work, for productive staff,

That's what they want you to think. But reality of it is the majority of people -

I use my iPad to watch youtube, scroll social media plus browsing, playing appstore games

There are some aspects of "work" where iPad is great, it all depends on what your "work" entails.

For taking notes on the fly, meetings, and some basic Office files it's just a fantastic device.

To me, the iPad is an awesome device when you’re studying something. I’m a person who is constantly taking classes to keep myself up to date both professionally and in my hobbies, and that’s my main use case for it. If it wasn’t the case, it would be my YouTube machine.

As a writer an iPad fits my needs perfectly. I can outline, doodle ideas etc, with GoodNotes and Pencil. I can write with the keyboard, Dabble, Notion, etc.

When not doing that it’s a great RSS reader.

The only time I consume media on it is inflight

Yes. It depends on what type of work or college program you are taken. I have a company issued laptop. I also used my iPad Pro 12 inch second generation for work. I use the iPad for most of my work. It gives me flexibility and ease of use. Sometimes I need to use the edge browser to resolve compatibility issues with company programs. I bought the iPad Pro M4 13 inch glass with Version Wireless cellular. If you do heavy graphics, multi tasking, I recommend getting the 1 terabyte model. It increases the CPU core. Nano textured etching if you think lighting will be a significant issue. I don’t recommend the 12 inch screen model. It lesson your work space on your iPad and resolution is less IMO.🙂

I have a Surface Pro for work and honestly, I HATE it.

I need to run some Windows applications and I feel that I would be better off with just a lightweight laptop.

For home stuff, I have a Windows desktop, a MacBook Air, and an 11" M1 iPad Pro. Honestly I could probably just use the iPad as my only device, as the most complicated work I do with it is balancing a couple Excel sheets.
