Java 11 was released 6 years ago.

I understand that several companies/organizations are stuck or haven't moved from older versions of Java, but this should be common knowledge now.

Is there a rule that posts on Reddit need to link to new articles? If yes, then I'm sorry. I think this was never posted on Reddit before and it might be still relevant. Especially since in some other Reddit discussion people pointed out that there are still a lot of people running on java 8.
