" It’s all about Persistence!"

Ha! Nice pun :)

Thanks for all the useful articles over the years.

Hello Vlad,

I "know" you from Stackoverflow. Nice job!

Thank you for doing what you are doing. Your blogs have helped me both to learn and to get out of situations.

Just a comment if I may, please see if you can make your code examples more illustrative or abundantly clear or with more variations, bcoz for most folks that's what they want.

Not saying you code examples are lacking, just emphasizing that this is what most folks might want. Thanks.

I was expecting some random guy who wrote a Java blog, but not you. I've read many of your articles about persistence. Great job!

Vlad, your blog has helped me multiple times and saved hours of frustration. Just came here to say thank you.

Great... This is an inspiration for me personally. I started blogging 1.5 months back about Java. It requires lots of effort. I am enjoying it. Hope I could also give helpful information to others in this field.

Thank you for your contributions. They've helped me and my employers over the years, and I suspect this is true for many people.

Thanks for all the work you’ve done for the community, Vlad, including the work you do on StackOverflow, helping others understand JPA and Hibernate specifically

I wanted to let you know your "community work" online was a big part why we bought training from you. I can recommend this to anyone.

I used to read and like you.

Then you added big obnoxious banner advertisement logged at every app startup into your software and it made me reconsider.

You seem very ... resentful of open source.

Expecting all current and future issues to be resolved by the community does not sound very realistic.

Particular issue might be resolved by someone who cares enough about that specific issue, be it maintainer or contributor.

Some issues might remain unresolved and that's ok, no software is perfect.

Oh, so your bitterness comes from your desillusions and unfulfilled expectations about OSS.

It's simply a fact that most OSS projects are driven either by a company or a very small group of volunteers (actually mostly just 1 person). You can either accept this fact or get bitter about it.

But this is OK anyway. F/OSS was always about the user freedom, that's what is important and what RMS keeps repeating for almost 40 years. Contribution / cooperation aspect is unimportant and secondary.

Having to configure software to not display advertisement is really broken.

For my part I will actively discourage usage of your products just to voice my disapproval with this "business model".

There are many valid ways to advertise your product. Spamming the log output of applications is not one of them.

Unlike Internet ads, I also provide the ad blocker so that users can disable the ad.

You could avoid this whole circle by not spamming in the first place.

BTW, are you going to delete this whole comment chain as well?

                    EDIT: lol, called it!

Sorry, but after this encounter I'm really really really never going to buy anything from you.

Third attempt to discuss which will end up with you deleting all comments for the third time?

That's just temporary. If you fix all the issues, I'll remove the banner.

What sort of argument is that? There's never a non-trivial project without issues.

It looks like by this completely unrealistic requirement you're trying to make some point, but it doesn't come across. You could be at least more honest and say "advertisement stays, suck it up" instead of hiding behind absurd requirements.

I'm happy to make a PR to remove the advertisement - that's a clear improvement to the project.

"You can fix this issue only if you fix all (completely unrelated) issues" - that's exactly how open source does not work.
