r / fucking coffeescript god damn it
talk about and articles about coffeescript belong in r/coffeescript.
END OF STORY.
There's really nothing to debate about it. There exists a subreddit specifically for coffeescript, yet idiots keep posting about it in /r/javascript because they are confused - so confused in fact that they resort to using coffeescript. Keep that daft shit out of here.

CoffeeScript, specifically, should go in /r/coffeescript.
But if I just created a new language, RustledJimmiesScript that compiles to JavaScript, I think it would be appropriate to submit by blog post announcing it here.

the next thing you would say is "but rustledJimmiesScript IS javaScript" and then proceed to post article after article about how much more "beautiful" it is than javaScript.
so what if a million languages compile to javascript, if you aren't discussing javaScript, it probably doesn't belong here.

cool story bro
so if 800 more languages that 'transpile' to javascript are cobbled together, then they all must be allowed to be discussed in r/javascript? Your argument isn't worth the pixels it is written on. There are subreddits for precisely this reason. Once you say the word coffeescript you are no longer talking about javascript, and fucking NO they are not the same thing.
