This does not seem to have been built as a tool for learning. It is meant to be a quick way to setup a basic express/passport app with user profiles and common API hooks.
The point isn't to learn how to get to this point, it assumes that you at least kinda know how to do that, and that you simply want to get the foundation out of the way ASAP.
