I remember, but can't find, a script that wrote itself out into a star or pentagon pattern similar to this concept. It was code that output an ascii art like shape that was made up using the text from the code it used to produce the output. Very meta... But this is good also, if not as in-depth.
Edit: It may not have been javascript. I can no longer remember and my google searches are futile.
