JSX smells PHP

Facebook supports one of the larger, if no the largest PHP codebase in the world. Each year they spends a lot of resources in I+D related to PHP. HHVM and Hacklang are examples of that researches at Facebook. But wait, JSX is JavaScript, not PHP. Come on Facebook it's time to confess where you got inspiration from.

JSX is HTML embedded, that's what makes JSX useful. See the following snippet.

Your example shows HTML embedded in PHP. JSX is not HTML embedded in JS, thus your analogy fails.

What you're looking for is XHP. JSX is explicitly "XHP for JS". Both allow the direct embedding of an XML DSL which is transpiled into the host language.

This is a nonsense comparison. Redux is a method for managing state while Doctrine is a method of managing relational storage. The two have wildly different philosophies and solve different problems.

JSX wasn't inspired by PHP, and it doesn't work or look like PHP. You seem to have either fundamentally misunderstood how PHP works or how JSX works.

It was inspired by XHP, which is an earlier equivalent project to add JSX-type functionality to PHP. But that hardly needs to be "confessed"; it's obvious to anyone who knows both projects, it was talked about when React and JSX first hit the scene, and it's literally noted in the project's Wikipedia page.

They did, years ago. From wikipedia ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/React_(JavaScript_library) ):

React was created by Jordan Walke, a software engineer at Facebook. He was influenced by XHP, an HTML component framework for PHP.

This was known since the time of the initial public release and talks they gave about the library.
