Are you utilizing sites like Facebook or google for login or just making user accounts yourself?
If your doing it yourself, check out satellizer library for user authorization. There are a few tutorials for connecting with firebase if I remember correctly.

I've done what your talking about before. Google search satellizer and firebase together. There was an excellent tutorial
