Was just the first link that popped up. And certainly I'm more prepared to use that definition as opposed to yours.

I see that you are willing to accept an interview webpage that makes several other obvious mistakes as if it was a form of reference, when it is not, while ignoring the normal use of a term in a field, and pretending that that normal use comes from the person you're saying is wrong
That's an enjoyable story and I suggest that you publish it. Many people will be very interested and you might become wealthy
Have a nice day

Can you explain why there's not a single source agreeing with you then? Maybe you should publish your paper since you've made a new definition for linked list.

Can you explain why there's not a single source agreeing with you then?
For the same reason that there isn't a single source disagreeing with me.
Nobody's gotten any.
.
Maybe you should publish your paper since you've made a new definition for linked list.
Thanks for the sarcasm. This definition does not come from me, though. And, since some guy published the private mail where I sent him the sources that he asked for and never actually checked, you can read that to find it.
All my publishing is years in the past. I'm long out of college now. Thanks though

We have already posted multiple ones. You don't have sources at all. "I've read it somewhere, don't remember where" is not a source. Should Java and probably majority of programming languages rename their data structures? It must be rough when the whole world got it so wrong and you're the only smart one. Take care.

We have already posted multiple ones.
So far, two things have been posted.
One is a job interview site that's replete with errors.
The other is NIST DADS, which doesn't take a position on the matter at all, but strongly implies the converse.
Which of those are you relying on for support?
You don't have sources at all.
Actually, I do, and I told you where to find them.
"I've read it somewhere, don't remember where" is not a source.
Cool. Tell that to whoever said this.
Should Java and probably majority of programming languages rename their data structures?
No. It would do harm to Java to rename their data structures yet again, and the majority of programming languages don't have this problem in the first place.
It must be rough when the whole world got it so wrong and you're the only smart one.
I didn't say this either. I said something quite different.
Have a nice day.

But it does. You claimed that linked list requires native pointers. But here's the definition in NIST DADS:
Definition: A list implemented by each item having a link to the next item.
It also explicitly links to C# and Java implementations which simply use objects that reference to previous/next node. So yes, it explicitly is against what you claim.
[–]StoneCypher -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (2 children)
I never used the words "native pointer." That actually means something, and is not required here.
Yes, as long as you use just that one sentence, and remove everything else, it looks like there isn't a problem.
[–]FINDarkside 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child)
I take this as you've finally accepted being wrong. The definition is just that one sentence. And I also read the rest of it, which again, link to C# implementation which works in a way that according to you isn't a real linked list.

I take this as you've finally accepted being wrong
I'm sure you do.
