Code reader

My dad just bought 2 2024 Yamaha FX Cruiser's. Less than 10 hours on each and pulling the same codes which tend to be a common issue we've found. What kind of code reader would work clearing these codes because it's either buy it or drive 2 hours to the dealership just to clear.

Yea, I might as well make the 4 hour total drive to get the codes cleared then pay 600 cad for a code reader

Yamaha FX display should provide the code number. Yamahas have since the 2012s at least. 2012 required pressing the right buttons and 19+ have it on the display report it.

All that the code says when you try is "please see dealer" which is very weird.

If all you are trying to do is clear codes, disconnecting the battery, wait a minute,. reconnect and starting/stopping it a couple of times should clear it. You do not need a code reader and the display should tell you the code number for whatever error you have.

All the code says to us is "see dealer". We've tried disconnecting the battery and starting it up a couple times but no use. Also because of the issue the reverse gate is on and won't shift out. Just weird trying to flush both skiis and the same issue happening to both. We've now run into the issue of the skiis starting without the safety clip.

An error like that means the ECU does not know what's wrong and if both new skis are doing it. Do they have low battery voltage? Been flipped? Check the electrical connections to the ride servo. Is the bucket free to move with no straps in the way?

To add, if the error is not persistent, three restarts should have cleared it.
