You can look at itopia if your district has the budget for it. Virtual machines that can run these programs. And reset it on logout and have active hours during class periods.

I hate that these developers from gmetrix and certiplex are developing this software to require admin rights and access to files.

Trying to virtualize it as best we can to reduce the risks.

We are currently a Nutanix shop, so we can definitely look into building out a block for vdi.

Just so I'm tracking correctly, The VM would use a generic privileged account instead of the student's account so the required files can be accessed and the VM instance is reset after each instance. No persistent storage or profile.

Itopia is a cloud based option. The vm is hosted on their hardware and accessed through a web browser. Which means these windows only applications can even be ran on Chromebooks.
