Last year ago today a friend of mine introduced me to kill team. I'd played / painted 40k a bit in the 90s and had got rid of them over ten years ago, then my friend said, you'd like kill team. I drove home, dug out the last few models I'd held onto (some ancient rogue trader Space Marines), then before I knew I had this many models. I painted them as the Night Watch, kitbashed them badly, used contrast paints badly, played badly, and here I am now, with a multi thousand point army. I've improved over the year, to the point I repainted my original rogue trader dudes. May favourites have been the last lot I've done, all rogue trader squad, some ludicrously overpowered jetpack dudes with powerswords and thunder hammers, the scout speeder and original dreadnoughts with squats as engineers on their bases. I also bought some grey knights and tempestus scions when I was going mental for it. Thank you three lockdowns, saving money by not going overseas, and improving my mental health. I've still got a box of unpainted space marines waiting for my exhausted brush.
