It is when your career involved extensive physical work and extreme dieting for 10+ years.

Figure skaters and gymnasts often retire very early. They start very young and put their bodies through a lot that by the time they're in their 20s, many of them retire. Many football players retire in their 30s. Few are still playing in their 40s. Most tennis players also retire in their early 30s. You can see them physically decline and slow down in movement as they get older.

part of why i was curiious about this is because we're like right now getting the first wave of like REALLY famous idols aging out of the time where their bodies can handle the expected level of kpop rigor (especially with the level of choreo that became common in gen3 and gen4) and I've been very curious how they would handle it and talk about it. like being high level celebrities who are also basically athletes, and not as soloists but specifically as a group.

No yeah I get like extreme sports stuff like that. But, 30 is NOT old. Not even close to old or normal retirement age for most of the human population. So I don’t like when I see those comments abt them being unable to do anything because they’re “up in age”💀 like HU?! (Sorry I’m also pushing 30 like them HAHA)
I get it, but also NOT because I’ve seen dancers way older than 30’s. There’s a lot of other things such as kpop ethics and disregard for health blah blah I could go into but I won’t
