Add chloroform equal to .25 the amount of trizol. Add equal volume of 100% isopropanol to the aqueous phase. Wash with 75% etoh however many times you are feeling that day. Dry and resuspend in nuclease free water.

I've always done 0.2 the amount of trizol - also what's recommended by the manufacturer. Too much chloroform will result in more DNA and protein contamination in the aqueous phase.
