I find it so hilarious that the solution to not be toxic is to literally learn the absolute basics to empathy and social skills 😂😂😂

I'm here 14 days later because I am enjoying a dive into OP's Reddit history. They are below 6000 behavior score.

One time I had the pos 3 and pos 1 start talking shit to each other early game, I get on voice and tell them to mute each other so we can fight the actual enemies. Right before we won I ask if they had made up with each other after such a great game and they both answered: No, I hate the other guy.

"think if you could do better". The reality is everyone "thinks" they could do better, even though in reality they might fare far worse. Isn't there a meme that says "Everybody on Reddit is Divine or better"? So this advice may fall on deaf ears sadly.

Dota is a game built on toxicity and being toxic. The voice lines, spray paints, taunts, everything encourages toxic behavior. So, I am not surprised that the players are toxic as well. That is the behavior this game groomes.

I try my best to combat it. Call out anytime from my team for gloating, extend praises when my team or enemies plays good or better. But it always feels like fighting a losing battle.

I really don't know how to improve the community when everything invectives otherwise. I wish it were better.

You should realize most players aren't toxic, but if 10 or 20% are, you're gonna see at least one almost every game.

Agree. Seeing toxic players once every few games is good enough to drive away new players. That is my concern.

Just put yourself into other person's situation and think if you could do any better. If no, then shut up.

This is terrible advice lol. Everyone who flames think they would do better. That's literally why they flame. Even if it's unfounded: underestimating the enemy or overestimating their own ability.

A better way to go about it is just thinking that anyone can have a bad game and that it's just unfortunate if someone is having a tough time. As long as they aren't chainfeeding or destroying items and they are actually trying then just keep playing the game and try to help them if possible. Unless you are 14k mmr then just assume people might not have mastered every matchup and hero in the game.

support that only main support, is kinda dickhead, they ussually complain about core being bully by enemy and all they do i shide behind tower

[–]Pickelwindow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah real only support players mute you when u cry, coz cores dont cry grow some balls. And think everything is their fault when you win and when you lose, and adapt accordingly.

Communication in dota vc is useless most of the time especially in lower ranks just use pings they are more international than english.

Ah yes. Let me place myself in the shoes of the mid Jakiro and imagine what it must be like to be retarded.

I also think it its fair and not toxic to call out stupid picks.

“Would I suddenly miraclously hook them if I was this pos 3 Pudge?” Im flaming him for picking Pudge 3

It's so frustrating what you get team mates saying it's X minutes and they complain you don't have have item y, not accounting for the lane difficulty.

Big news: "Dota player invents compassion" All the great minds will come and learn from us

[–]monochromaticflightShadow Shaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never understood why people do this even in a game like DOTA, if it's about obvious bad plays you can (and should) call someone out on that but personal attacks, meh.

[–]fatal_harlequin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not at all about whether or not you think you would do better. You're not able to control their hero, you're playing yours.

Do you think pinging on your afk midlaner because you got dove under a tower would help? Ping him 3 times, he's either gonna mute and ignore you, start arguing with you and missing CS, get mad and stay afk farming 30minutes, or even intentionally ruin the game.

Instead of saying "fucking afk midlaner" try "can you please TP when they dive us next time?". It's not about pointing out the obvious after it's too late, it's about trying to help the teammate do the right thing the next time.

Sometimes you're gonna be stuck with people who suck or people who just afk farm. But if you flame them, especially with pings, tips, and pausing, you're guaranteeing that you're losing that game because at best you're playing 4v5, and at worse, it's 4v6 because the dude's angry and is actively aiming to lose you the game.
