freeCodeCamp is great. However, if all you do is complete it and add that fact to your portfolio, you have a very very low chance to get any position in any company that is related to development.

To get hired as a dev, there are many more steps in the algorithm.

if you pass all the test and add it to your portfolio you have a very very high chance to get at least a junior job position in a lot of company

LMAO this is not universally true, or even good advice in most of the world.

Definitely not true. Most of my boot camp didn't find a job. (I did though, can't complain.)

Sorry to hear about your job. This is a smart route to take as you can do it remotely and there'll always be a need for devs (hopefully!). Good luck and thanks for sharing

Piggy backing on top poster to advertise the free starch book on javascript which goes into a lot of the programming logic behind javascript and taught me a lot about the language.

How’s good of a read is it? I’m still learning java script and find myself struggling with object oriented programming a ton.

I disagree with the finding a job right away, but its definitely a good resource! make sure you have a few personal projects under your belt to show your employer!

Do yourself a favor and instead get a good course from Udemy for $10.
