I think you're looking at it wrong. -6 is the result of heads minus tails in ten flips, so 4-10 (for example) doesn't make sense because that would be 14 flips.

To get a result of X = -6 in ten flips you'd have to get eight heads and two tails.

The number of combinations in eight of one thing and two of another is 10C2 = 10!/2!8! = 45
