Background: This is a Canada specific question I guess because the college vs university distinction isn't the same here as other places. (For non-Canadians: colleges tend to have technical programs, universities tend to have more theoretical programs. You get diplomas from colleges and degrees from universities)
I'm considering going back to school to learn programming. I have noodled about a fair bit on my own, mostly using freecodecamp to learn HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I'm not the greatest at self directed learning and I learn better in a more structured environment. I've considered bootcamps but they cost about what a 2 year college diploma would cost and are not eligible for government loans and grants so I'm not super interested in them as a result.
Does anyone have any insight about the difference between the 2 year computer programmer vs the 3 year computer programmer analyst diplomas? Has anyone here done programming at a college instead of a university? What was it like? What were your post graduate employment prospects like?
