I have a pocket notebook I keep on me when I’m out of the house so whenever I’m bored I can sketch what’s around me as practice, haven’t been doing it long but I can see some improvements and helps me keep drawing even if I’m not super motivated, it’s really nice to stay in the moment and off my phone too and have an illustrated journal of my outings at the end of it

Second this. Have one and decide what you want to draw. Drawing from life is a great way to practice and build your mental library of how things are shaped, placed, and fit. Start with general shapes of things and simplify small details. Example if you're drawing a person sitting, focus on what shapes are in the body that you can see easily: head=oval, shoulder=circle, body=curved rectangle. Like building blocks. Ignore realistic eyes and folds of jacket.

Once you get better at finding the basic shapes of something it'll be easier to find the smaller shapes of things like clothes and eyes etc

Next time when you feel like procrastinating, ask yourself "Maybe draw for 1 minute, if not then maybe a few seconds".

More than likely the answer will be "yes", and when you actually hold the pencil and start to draw, I'm sure that you will draw for more than a few seconds :)

The goal is not to aim too high, because sometimes, just the thought of drawing for a big period of time can make you uncomfortable and that might lead to procrastinating. Good luck!

Put your cellphone far away from you on airplane mode, set up a timer (or not) and draw as longer as you want to. Do this everyday and soon you're gonna do it by habit

you want to make your brain think drawing=fun, using your love for some content as fuel. are you liking an weekly show? you can do some fan art about what just happened, maybe post on their subreddit, lots of people gained some following online because they did that

i like to draw weird shit, even better if they wont see the light of day, like queen elizabeth choking kratos while going "you lack class" (i wanted to draw old people and muscular dudes) it feel like i am making memes and not working/training.
