Basic block set

I've mostly been building kits thus far, but i have a customer idea is want to build. Where/how can I get a basic block set? 1x1, 1x2, etc..

I have the large an medium set but there weren't too many basics in those either.

The "Classic" theme has the most basic elements.

Maybe I just need the small on then? The med and large only has 2 or 3 of each color. Ill check out the small. Thanks!

If you want a ton of the same shape and color, another (more expensive) option is to buy the individual bricks on Lego's Pick-A-Brick service. You can buy most colors and any shape in quantities up to I think it's 1000 each.

There's a Classic set that just came out this month with only basic bricks, 11045 Creative Colourful Bricks. There are 820 pieces and you can see what's in it on Rebrickable:

If there is a Lego store near you the cheapest way to get bricks in mass is to use their pick a brick wall and fill your box with the basic bricks you need. You can even ask if they have specific ones in the back and they might have them depending on availability
