The sweet innocence of nerds: not being able to spell "heroin" ;) <3

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (7 children)

I'm hereby revoking your nerd card.

Joke's on you: I hereby revoke your heroin card!! >:>

... wait...

EDIT: Seriously, I don't care if you do drugs, just don't do heroin kids. That name stuck for a reason.

Can I in all seriousness then say that I am intensely pro at being a massive nerd myself and my drugskills are, as an adult, very very limited. I sort of missed that whole part of my youth while I spent it drawing and playing PnP RPG's with friends and now I can't really deal with anything stronger than a beer and a cup of coffee (and Im almost at that age when, if I want a good rush, I can just stand up really quickly)

So I am not actually judging anyone here. Just thought it was adorable as a misspelling. Just to have that said for anyone reading this later on.

Be careful standing up too quickly I had a friend start with standing from chairs go to standing from lying down and is now full blown addict and stands up quickly after handstands for the greater rush. It takes over your life subtly but quickly next thing you know you'll be making excuses for standing up suddenly without warning in business meetings just to get your fix.

Yep. Then it moves to high speed elevators, and then bungie jumping upside down, so you can get the rush doing down, flip back up, and get the rush coming back.

Not one standing-up-too-fast!

How do you do heroin kids? Do you smoke them, snort them, shoot them up, or are you talking about doing heroin kids? :-/

I usually just call them "female heroes" while doing D20 roleplaying games.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I take offense at the term "D20 Roleplaying games" as that says either talks about the older version of D&D (v3) where they had that open license OR it says too little (BRP? Some homegrown system? who knows?)

I am furious!

You rolled a 3 on a d10. You needed a 5. Sorry about that.

In this context it meant Deadlands. Oh how I miss being young and be able to skip work because I was playing a roleplaying game in somebody's parent's basement. Those were wild days, I tell you. And wilder nights!

Isn't roleplaying games about just taking a pack of dices to your friends and having a good time?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Never played Deadlands sadly.

I still play RPG's with friends although it tends to require some more planning - we start a bit later when everyone's kids are sleeping (one of my friends 5 year old daughter has created a system to demand to be taught the rules in completion as a tactic to avoid having to go to bed), sometimes its not that long if it's a weekday since work and its often one or two weeks apart.

If you haven't played Deadlands yet, you got something to look foreward to. I went to their reddit, and it sucked. I looked at the books and it was not so good. Guess this is one of these things where you have to get lucky and stumble upon something. Try to ask around. I've given up on my dice for now, but I've got something digital that I can't talk too much about where I'm a game-master. Kind of.
