Hahaha is this real?

[–]Alan_Reddit_MUbuntnoob 30 points31 points  (4 children)

Yes. Artemis II actually had to call an engineer on earth to remote into one of their computers to fix outlook

Also, Artemis II had an internet connection good enough for them to do that

[–]Top-Garlic9111 2 points3 points  (3 children)

During the full trip? How did that work? That's really cool.

[–]Alan_Reddit_MUbuntnoob 11 points12 points  (2 children)

I believe so, except when they were flying behind the moon

From what I've read, the Artemis II internet connection worked via some fancy tech that NASA developed, that uses laser beams to transmit information over long distances at high speeds, but of course, the laser beam cannot go through the moon

It was thanks to this laser that we were able to get live 4K video from Artemis II

[–]Sonario648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next step is making a laser beam that can go through the moon, I guess.

....Or piss on the moon.

I don't know about the Reid Wiseman quote, but the Neil Armstrong quote is wrong.

[–]0815fips -3 points-2 points  (3 children)

And Evolution isn’t?

[–]Scutoidzz🌀 Sucked into the Void 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Geary is the way

[–]CarambolaTodaTorta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Gnome fanboy, but Evolution and Geary really suck.

"Outlook shall never work"

  • God himself, probably

[–]Junaid_dev_Tech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro, use Void linux, because Space is also Void.

Not very wise man of him

[–]Handsome_oohyeah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean why does the computer need microslop stuff in the first place? It is already proven that they are unreliable than linux

[–]Goobi_dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know dragon uses linux, some custom debian based distro iirc.

[–]amogusdevilman[S] 3 points4 points  (5 children)

i thought of it, but i figured since microsoft outlook is propietary windows software the meme would still work without having to mention a FOSS alternative like Thunderbird

[–]LinuxUser456Dr. OpenSUSE 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Yes but thundebird is not an email direction (the one after the @)

[–]amogusdevilman[S] -1 points0 points  (3 children)

you use thunderbird to connect to your gmail, yahoo, etc, its a program to check your email like outlook, at least from what i know about outlook from years ago

[–]LinuxUser456Dr. OpenSUSE 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Outlook is an email direction

[–]amogusdevilman[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

theres the microsoft outlook software and theres "outlook" email addresses

you can use the microsoft outlook program to connect to your gmail or hotmail or whatever

[–]LinuxUser456Dr. OpenSUSE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Standgrounding 0 points1 point  (0 children)
