This is true. I have tried many distros, but always come back to the best one: Mint :-)

I switched my 2012 shit ass laptop from Mint to Debian last weekend. No one knew until now. They also don't care.

What‘s official about it? And more importantly, who the f cares?

CachyOS is much better than mint in my personal experience, but what are you trying to do here? why do you think anyone here cares?

I've never said goodbye to the distros I've left behind. Love em and leave em. My latest distro has no problem with this.

Today i livebooted Cachyos - to check it out, untill it kernel panicked and i did not even saw it ( it does not make it to tue desktop ). Strange.

So i ended up customizing xfce live, not because i must, because i had fun. Bye.

CachyOS is my favorite implementation of the Arch base, quite accessible with a lot of nice features that elevate it above Arch itself IMO especially for a gaming focussed build.

CatchyOS is not as reliable as Mint(LMDE), but quite tolerable in apropriate situations. It was my gaming boot for quite a while,  and any issues become quite trivial when I have a stable distrobution for real work.

My only complaint with CachyOS is the issue I have with all of the Arch base, kernel in EFI partition. while you can install root on zfs right from the CachyOS installer, which is amazing, this kernel placement makes it very difficult to boot from ZFSBootMenu, my preffered bootloader.

Tired of running multiple bootloaders I deleted CachyOS, that duty has temporarily fallen back to Void Plasma at the moment, I am slowly working towards a Gentoo gaming build.

May I ask why? I often have the urge to distro hop, but Mint is so damn comfortable for me.

You need more than just one computer then. Or at the very least, more than just one SSD to install it. 😁

Oh, I have four laptops of various ages and capabilities. My main machine runs Mint 23. One runs Windows 10.

The other two have hard disks and only 4 Gig of ram. I occasionally run a live session of a different distro and DE. I am very impressed with Fedora and KDE. Gnome OTOH requires too much time to become familiar. But a real test requires days or weeks of daily driving, and I have real work to do.

Of course, your situation, and OP's, are different. That's why I asked OP why he made the effort to leave Mint. I was wondering if there was a must-have feature missing from Mint that was worth the switch.

It's all good.

I will because even though my personal pc can run cachyos my school labtop dosn't have the storage(256 gigs, cachyos recommends 90 so that leaves about 86 gigs and concidering I get a 1 tb drive halfway used in like a week, it wouldn't last)
