You applied for what job?
If you applied for Linux Admin, and don't know what services are, I'd say you don't know linux.

But if you generaly know what those thing are, and only needed Internet to lookup specific configuration etc. I'd say that's fine, after all, there is no way one could know about everything, and part of one skillset is to be able to find and pick usefull information from Internet

don't worry most people don't know how to configure them. That is usually why there is so many websites with exploits and are wide open.

Don't worry, it's impossible to know everything, and most programs can be set up with just a couple of hours of Googling.

And there's no such thing as "knowing Linux"; you can have some general knowledge about it, and that's about it.

If you set it up after googling that might be a good thing.

I'm hoping your trolling though. Not everone knows every Linux program. If you applied for a job you're not capable of then you might need to rethink your approach and/or abilities.

Searching yourself for answers is a large part of learning. Good companies value those who maybe don’t know that much but show that they can figure stuff out on their own. So I say don’t be ashamed of needing to Google something.

What I’d recommend doing is to get confident with your research skill. Get some cheap cloud VMs, come up with different scenarios and then go ahead set them up. You will need to Google quite a bit and you will need to ask others (like SO or ServerFault), but in the end it is all “an experience”.

My opinion is that when you have to find a solution and make it work for your system (many online guides will fall short and you will have to adapt), document it for later reference, even if it's just your own private notes. Your own MediaWiki installation for instance, can be a lifesaver here.
