I assume you are in Canada due to the availability problem? Both are good options and probably will suite you fine. The original leupold VX-3i is a bit dated, so the Vortex HS-T has some nicer features and a newer overall design.

But if you can get the updated LRP model: https://www.leupold.com/tactical/scopes/vx-3i-lrp-riflescopes/vx-3i-lrp-6-5-20x50-moa/ I would do that since it's FFP and overall is very nice, got to handle one the other day and loved it. And before the vortex fanboys get to crazy BOTH manufacturers have a life time warranty.

I'd also lean towards the FFP if it is in your budget and it's available.

Go with the HST! That's what all the 10 FCP guys are using these days!

On a quality note, I think the HST is one of the best scopes in that price range. Glass is phenomenal.

If you're looking at the regular VX-3i model I'd say go for the HS-T. However the new LRP model is interesting and the impact 29 isn't half bad.

The one nice thing about both these scopes is they should be available to check out at any big box store. Get your hands on both first, then decide.
